Tomorrow marks the final day of the Australian winter, paving a new path for spring and the concomitant promise of fresh, new beginnings. As you know, ever since I pursued full time work as a doctor, the blog has dwindled in the peripheries, lying latent in the shadows. This is ironically partially due to the seed of its inception - that is, as a frivolous medium to escape reality - that began to feel like a trivial project invalidated by the serious business of the medical world. 

However, many months later and after an influx of love letters in my inbox, I have decided to reinvigorate the blog but with a renewed spirit and direction to serve a greater purpose ... all will be revealed in the spring! 

I hope you have all been well and - as always - I am indebted by the kindness and support you have given me throughout the years.

Finally, finally, after weeks of a peripatetic existence, I'm somewhat settling again back home rather like leaves on the autumn ground - calm, restless at times, often too eager to drift with the breeze...

...And whilst it is lovely to welcome the familiarity of routine and structure back into life, I can't help but feel that I left my heart somewhere across the sea and that old friend wanderlust beckons and I find myself, yet again, grateful that I have a beautiful dream career that distracts me from its perpetual allure...

Tonight seems to be one of those balmy evenings where summer refuses to retire without a statement (vacillating between humidity and intense pluvial episodes). On such days, I find it invigorating to be reminded that somewhere in the vast world, there are houses perfectly capped with soft tufts of alabaster snow, children playing with the crunch of ice beneath their boots, and pensive souls enjoying the serenity of the arctic chill...
